MCH Laboratory Earns “Gold Standard” Accreditation

LABORATORY EARNS CAP ACCREDITATION

The Morrow County Hospital Laboratory has been awarded a two-year College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation as the result of a recent survey. The College of American Pathologists is the gold standard in laboratory accreditation and is the world’s largest association comprised exclusively of board-certified pathologists and is the worldwide leader in laboratory quality assurance.

During the survey progress, our Laboratory and Dr. Joon Park, board-certified pathologist, were assessed by CAP for the overall quality of the laboratory – quality control, policy and procedure compliance, staff education and competencies, and proficiency testing. Throughout the following two years, CAP assists laboratories in maintaining continuous compliance. Approximately one year following the onsite inspection, the laboratory performs a self-inspection to assure sustained compliance and quality improvement. This ongoing process is designed to ensure continued, optimum laboratory performance.

Congratulations to our entire Morrow County Hospital Laboratory Team –
